JAMES Spruyt hit a hat-trick as Vale of White Horse won 6-2 away to Coventry in the ESFA PlayStation Under 15 Inter Association Trophy fourth round.

Spruyt opened the scoring after 14 minutes of the last-16 tie at Coventry Sporting FC, finishing off a fine move.

Nathan Baker then headed home a Spruyt corner at the far post, before Coventry pulled a goal back early in the second half when Ethan Freemantle raced clear to lob keeper Matthew Carr.

Spruyt struck twice more to seal his hat-trick, and George Carder added No 5.

Brandon Lynch reduced the deficit a minute later, but Isaac Matthewman raced clear in the last minute to seal Vale’s place in the last eight.
