SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL: Vale are vanquished by Gosport in final

First published in Youth & Women's

Vale of White Horse Under 13s were blown away 5-0 by Gosport & Fareham in the Oxford United Cup final at Abingdon Town.

With captain Joe Fleming ill, Vale had to rearrange their team, and Gosport proved the better side in all departments with Harvey Clark and Jake Cope’s far post header giving them a two-goal cushion at half-time.

Kai Curruthers, Clark and Jack Nolan added further goals for the visitors in the second half, and it was only some excellent saves by keeper Matthew Crowther which prevented Vale suffering a heavier defeat.
