Matthew Arnold (Oxford) lifted the Vale of White Horse Under 13 Cup with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over King Alfred’s (Wantage) at Letcombe FC.
The clash finished 1-1 after extra time, with Adam Megarity giving Matthew Arnold the lead early in the second half when his long-range shot slipped through the keeper’s hands.
James Ormrod equalised soon afterwards, and with no further scoring the match was settled on penalties.
The first six spot-kicks were all converted, but King Alfred`s fourth was saved by Josh Moore, and when their fifth penalty went wide, it left Matthew Arnold to lift the cup.
