Katie Miller’s extra-time winner saw Didcot Girls’ School triumph 3-2 at Highworth GS (Ashford, Kent) in a thrilling ESFA Under 14 PlayStation Schools’ Cup semi-final.
Her super strike took Didcot through to face Kibworth (Leicester) in the final at Reading’s Madejski Stadium on Tuesday, May 20 (9.30am).
It gives Didcot the chance to repeat last year’s success when they were crowned under 13 national champions.
Playing on the John Wallis 3G pitch, Didcot, for whom Maili Nugent and Ally Paton were outstanding, opened the scoring when Mollie Dyer converted a cross.
Highworth equalised, but Freeleigh Parnell restored Didcot’s lead after beating a defender before shooting home.
However, Highworth hit a late leveller to take the match into extra time when Miller fired a shot into the top corner to secure victory.
