Zac Farrow’s double set a depleted Oxfordshire on the way to a 3-1 win over Berkshire in the Reed Trophy at Milton United.
Oxon, who were hit by the late withdrawal of four players, gave debuts to James Barnett and James Darling.
They started well, though, and scored twice in the first 15 minutes.
Aaron Heap was a constant threat in attack, and when he was fouled in the area, Farrow scored from the spot.
Farrow added his second soon afterwards after another great run from Aaron Heap, before Joe Wilson reduced the deficit.
With Heap going off injured at half-time, Berskhire dominated the second half, but Oxon’s defence, with Ross McMahon and Harry Mountford outstanding, held firm and Barnett capped his first game by heading home No 3.
VALE of White Horse take two teams to the ESFA Isle of Wight Festival next week.
They will line up in the under 13 and under 14 competitions.
