FOOTBALL: Parsons leads the way
GIRLS FOOTBALL
BENSON United defeated Crendon Corinthians 3-0 to get their Oxon/Bucks Under 14 Bundesliga campaign off to a winning start.
A deflected effort from Phoebe Parsons opened the scoring after 19 minutes and despite carving out two excellent chances the visitors were unable to respond.
Instead Benson extended their lead as the match neared its closing stages, Emily Bailey slotting home. Parsons scored her second five minutes later.
An Alana Jones brace gave Carterton Town a 2-0 win over Penn & Tylers Green in the Oxon/Bucks Under 14 Primeira Liga.
Jones completed an impressive passing move to give the home side a deserved lead at the break, before adding a second ten minutes into the second half.
