TOWER Hill Ladies progressed to the Southern League Chairman’s Cup quarter-finals following a 3-2 extra-time victory at Newbury.

The hosts took the lead with a goal from Rachel Panting following a long range shot.

Tower Hill eventually drew level early in the second half following a goalmouth scramble, with the ball being put away by Emma Proctor.

Tower then went ahead when Samantha Bevan-Talbot raced clear and slipped the ball under the advancing keeper.

Newbury levelled it up through Leanne Creese with five minutes to go to send the tie into extra time.

Tower again soaked up an early onslaught by the home team, and following a swift counter-attack, Lisa Freeman tapped in.

Newbury missed some good chances and Tower’s Bevan-Talbot saw a shot come back off the post.
