OXFORD City bowed out of the ESFA Under 15 Trophy in controversial fashion with a 3-2 defeat after extra time by Blackheath in the fourth round at Harris Academy, Greenwich.

With the tie all-square at 2-2 in the last minute of the first period of extra time, a Blackheath cross appeared to go out of play.

The linesman raised his flag before putting it down, but Oxford keeper Bojan Tetek had stopped playing as Rasheve Stewart headed the ball home.

Despite the visitors’ protests the goal was allowed to stand.

Oxford had fought back from 2-0 down at half-time after Ronnie O’Donnell gave Tetek no chance with two cracking 20-yard strikes before the interval.

But the visitors rallied in the second half with Rav Shamsi scoring a spectacular 35-yard free-kick, before captain Cain McCormack equalised from close range.
