While the Critchleys Upper Thames Valley League programme was wiped out by frost, Mansfield Road, from Division 1, and Division 3A outfit Zubry Oxford beat the freeze by playing a friendly on Oxford City’s new 3G surface.
Players from both sides were impressed with the pitch as they fought out a 3-3 draw.
Max Burton’s double and a Mohammed Hankir strike put Mansfield Road 3-1 ahead.
But Zubry fought back for a draw, with their goals coming from Marcin Samoluk, Lukasz Wolinski and Andrzej Krason.
With the cold snap relenting, clubs will be keen to get back into action this Sunday when the feature games are in the Devenney Cup.
Division 1 outfit AFC Jericho will be looking to spring a surprise when they entertain Premier side Kings Arms Wheatley in the quarter-finals, while Sutton Revolution are at home to OUP Wanderers in an all-Division 1 tie.
