Golden Ball won the Critchleys UTV League Division 3 title with a game to spare in emphatic style, thrashing Jet 9-1, writes STUART PARSONS.

John McMahon scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 42 goals this season, Dan Bradley and Mark Williamson netted twice each and there were also goals for Noel Fox and Ben Kerry. Graeme Smith netted Jet’s consolation.

In Division 1, Railway Wheatley recovered from a nightmare start to beat Sporting Headington Academicals 4-3.

Stuart Hunter and Peter LeFort put the visitors two goals in front, but Wheatley fought back to level through Seb Warner and Chris Peck to make it 2-2 at the break.

Simon Cullen then gave the home side the lead for the first time and Ashley Buttress’s wind-assisted shot made it 4-2 before Connor Patton got a consolation for Headington in the dying minutes.

North Oxford Conservative Club secured their place in the semi-final of the Hedley Toms/Michael Brown Trophy with a 7-2 win at Zubry Oxford.

Andy Potter grabbed a hat-trick, Liam Carroll scored twice and there was one goal apiece for both Michael O’Shea and Sharman Davies.

Zubry replied through Tomasz Sekedniki and Andrzej Krason.

North Oxford Conservative Club will face fellow Division 1 side Forest Hill for a place in the final after they overcame the Village Inn 4-1.

Craig Watts struck twice for the home side alongside efforts from Lewis Gerring and Steve West. Player-manager Colin Royal got The Village Inn’s solitary goal.

Barton United cruised into the other semi-final with a 5-1 win at home to Iffley Harriers.

Liam McWhirter put Harriers in front inside the first ten minutes, but the hosts hit back with two goals from Jamie McCuaig and further efforts from Drew Fowler, Ben Green and Tom Payne.

Barton’s opponents in the next round are the Blackbird, who advanced after AFC Valley forfeited their quarter-final tie.
