FOOTBALL: Valley put to the sword by Warner

CRITCHLEYS UTV LEAGUE

DIVISIONS1&2

RAILWAY Wheatley scored four second-half goals to beat AFC Valley 5-0 in Division 1, including a hat-trick from Ian Warner.

Aaron Leyburne and Sean Lintott also notched for the home side as they moved up to second.

Rutherford made their numerical advantage count to beat Tree Grove 5-1 as a number of absences left the hosts with just ten men and reduced the visitors to eight.

Ian Williams scored twice and Liam Power, Samuel Adekanye and Ady Arnold were also on the mark for Rutherford, while Josh Cottrell netted the consolation.

Martin Dawson bagged a hat-trick as Green Tree Wallingford beat Abingdon Exiles 6-0 in Division 2, with Chris Swales, Jack Eccles and Max Mohan Triogles also netting for the league leaders.

White Horse Abingdon went down 3-2 to an inspired Black Swan outfit thanks to goals from James Foster, Nathan Carter and Dave Carter.

Josh Hackett and Ashley Brown scored White Horse’s consolation efforts.

DIVISION3

Kennington Athletic went top of the  table in magnificent style with a 14-1 crushing of Great Western Park.

Hot-shots Neil McMahon (5), John Mills (4), Jack Lynch (3), John Lynch and Jordan Tevillion did the devastating damage to take rampant Kennington soaring above Jet FC on goal difference.

An own goal late in the game gave Wallingford Cross Keys a 4-3 away win over Milton Midgets.

Strikes from Paul Berchino, Colin Moffat and James Carline proved in vain for Milton after Tyrone Morris’s brace and a goal from Andrew Gibbons had kept the visitors on level terms.
