FREELAND Yeoman pulled off a shock, beating Critchleys UTV League Premier Division high-flyers Oxford Sports & Social Club 3-1 in round two, writes DARYL RIDGLEY.

The higher division side took an early lead through Danny McMahon, but Yeoman levelled with a spectacular 30-yard volley from Simon Calley.

Tom Gerken then struck twice to give the home side an impressive victory.

A superb second-half comeback saw Iffley Harriers edged out 2-1 by Checkendon.

Visitors Harriers led at the break thanks to a Chris Morgan effort.

But Checkendon were able to turn the tables when Patrick Isitt seized on a defensive error to equalise and Joe Barratt hit the winner.

Joey Beauchamp scored twice to help North Oxford Conservative Club to a comfortable 4-0 win over Wycombe & District League side Chinnor Athletic, with Steven Doyle and Luke Murphy also netting.

John James, Will Crennan, Chris Hoy and Rich Nockold gave Jet FC an easy 4-1 success over Northway, whose solitary effort came from the prolific Marvin Martin.

Ten-man Abba Athletic overcame Forest Hill 1-0.

Rob Appleton scored the decisive goal, despite Ricky Fallon’s red card after just 25 minutes for a late challenge.

Village Inn’s tie at Dog & Gun was abandoned on 51 minutes with the score 4-4 after Village player Neil Pitson dislocated his knee.

The visitors were 4-1 down at half-time but pulled themselves level within six minutes of the restart.

Max Palmer netted a hat-trick and David Murphy also scored for Village Inn before Pitson’s injury forced a premature end to the clash.

Zubry Oxford were 3-2 victors at Woodstock Wanderers. Deniz Kurt, Tomasz Samoluk and Andrzej Krason were on target for the visitors, while Ryan Doran scored both of the Wanderers’ goals.

Four second-half strikes gave Blacks Head Bletchingdon a 6-2 victory over Standlake Garage.

A Jack Mangan brace and further goals from Tom Knox, Chris Thorne, Chris Fennell and Denel Steels were enough to send Blacks Head through.

Tim Senior and Merv Gundrem scored for the home side in a close first half.

A Steve Gair brace and goals from Robbie Wood and George Cottrell gave Watlington Town a straight- forward 4-2 victory over Henley YMCA.
