THE points were shared in a remarkable Division 1 clash which finished 5-5 as Sporting Headington Academicals hosted Iffley Harriers, writes DARYL RIDGLEY.

The hosts raced into the lead with goals from Ben Wright and Tim Wright.

Dan Bond responded with a double, sandwiching Stu Hunter’s effort, giving Headington a 3-2 lead at half time.

Harriers seized the initiative after the break, with Jack Barrett (2) and Daniel Pear giving them a two-goal lead.

But five minutes from time Tim Wright narrowed the gap and Ben Wright earned a draw with his second goal with virtually the last kick of the game.

Harry Irwin netted the winner as Freeland Yeoman won 3-2 against a spirited Railway Wheatley.

Shaun Liptrot headed the home side into the lead, but it was cancelled out after the interval by a brace from Danny Taylor.

Irwin made it 3-1 and Freeland needed the two-goal cushion, as James Beasley pulled a goal back three minutes from time to set up a frantic finish.

Premier Division leaders AFC Jericho opened up a nine-point lead as they beat Zubry Oxford 7-1 at home to preserve their perfect start to the season.

Ben Curtis led the way with a hat-trick, while Aston Shaw hit a brace.

Mardis Joseph and Kyle Pullen also registered to maintain the excellent start to the campaign.

After back-to-back defeats, defending champions Ox-ford Sports & Social Club finally got off the mark with a 6-4 win at Barton.

Johnny McMahon grabbed five and Rob Catell scored the visitors’ other goal.

Barton struck through Jamie McCall (3) and Tom Payne.

There were goals galore as two teams ran up double figures in Division 2.

Northway Res demolished White Horse 14-1 at home.

Joe Cook helped himself to a double hat-trick, while there were braces for Stevie Andrews and Joe Jacobs.

Their scoring was completed by Ryan White, Aaron Williams, Ryan Barnett and Carl Hibbert. Jamie Simmonds hit White Horse’s reply.

Steven Doyle’s hat-trick helped North Oxford Conservative Club to a 10-2 win over visitors Standlake Garage.

There were doubles from Luke Murphy and Servet Bresa, while Luke Beecham, Chris Douglas and Andrew Potter also hit the target.

Sebastian White and Kyle DeFreitas provided Standlake’s response.

Village Inn stayed top with a 4-1 win at rock bottom Checkendon Exiles.

Max Palmer, who hit four in the previous game, was continued his good form with two goals.

Robert Lee and David Murphy also got in on the act, ensuring Dan Carter’s strike for the Exiles was just a consolation.

Ryan Thorne’s brace helped Woodstock Wanderers to a 4-1 win at Forest Hill.

David Bray and Steve Foreman were the visitors’ other scorers. Josh Gonzales netted for the hosts.

Jack McLaughlin scored an incredible 12 goals as AFC Brightwell humiliated Dilly United 20-0 in Division 3.

Louis Rice-Wilson added a hat-trick and there were also goals for Luke Trythall (2), Martin White, Matt Holtom and Drew Farquharson as Dilly suffered an afternoon to forget.

Wallingford Cross Keys’ impressive start to the season came to a abrupt end when they went down 5-1 at home to Long Wittenham.

Kevin Bailey had put the hosts in front, but Steve Hedges scored a hat-trick and Lewis Monaghan added two more as the visiting side roared back to take maximum points.

New Club also enjoyed a 5-1 win on the road, taking down JET.
