Freeland Yeoman finished strongly to capture the Critchleys Upper Thames Valley League's Ridgeway Cup with a 3-1 win over Northway Boys & Girls Res in the final at Abingdon Town.
With the Division 2 rivals locked together at 1-1 with ten minutes to go, man-of-the-match Conor Allmond’s deep right-wing cross was turned into his own net by Northway’s Danny Lawrence for an own goal.
Danny Taylor then sealed Freeland’s first cup success by curling a delightful shot into the top corner.
Freeland had broken the deadlock on the stroke of half-time when Allmond’s corner was cleared to the edge of the box, and Ben Sadler’s shot evaded the hands of keeper Adam Williams.
Northway levelled after the break when Mike Yearwood pounced on a long ball and beat Alexander Rendell with a low drive, but Freeland had the final say.
