Simon Evans’s 30-yard strike gave Horspath a 1-0 win at Kennington in the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division.

After a tight first half, Evans produced the decisive moment midway through the second period when he strode forward to smash the ball home from long range.

Simon Burton, back from a three-match ban, led the Horspath attack well, while Andy Kirtland worked tirelessly in midfield.

With Johnny Roberts and Grant Mosley solid at the back in the second half, Horspath held on to take a well-deserved maximum points.

North Oxford recorded their first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Long Crendon in their Division 1 basement battle – despite playing over half the game with ten men after Nino Merola was sent off.

He got his marching orders for a clumsy challenge with the referee deeming it denied a goal-scoring opportunity.

But North rallied well with goals from Jon Ramsey, Shane Whalley, Paul Kovac and Ryan Murray to take victory.

Matt Hopwood replied for Crendon, who are still seeking their first point after five games.

Leaders Slade Farm made it six wins from as many games with a 2-0 victory at previously-unbeaten Charlton United.

The deadlock was broken in the second half when Slade looked fortunate to be awarded a penalty, but Dan Savin made no mistake from the spot.

Substitute Jamie Philcox sealed Slade’s victory, turning sharply in the six-yard box to slot the ball home.

Andrew McMahon’s double helped Oxford Irish bounce back to winning ways with a 3-2 home victory over Watlington.

Nathan Bentney also netted for Irish.

Northway eased to a 3-0 home win over Middleton Cheney.

Anthony Simpson gave Northway an early lead, before Jake Carter doubled their advantage from the penalty spot before the break.

Lee Keyes sealed victory in the second half.

Oakley twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at Chadlington.

Jamie Wyatt gave Chadlington an early lead before Oakley equalised through Steve Wren before half-time.

David Souch fired Chadlington back in front with a fine shot from 20 yards, but substitute Jamie Smith scored from close range with ten minutes left to earn Oakley a point.

John Umney hit a four-timer as Adderbury Park Res made it five wins from as many games in Division 2 with an 8-0 home thrashing of Charlton United Res.

Perry Hawkins (2), Steve Hirons and Lee Emery completed the rout.

Braces from Stuart Wells and Luke Beauchamp helped leaders Bletchingdon Res make it six straight wins with a 5-3 victory at Oakley Res.

Paul Faulkner also netted for Bletchingdon, with Dean Boyles (2) and Alex Gardiner leading Oakley’s fightback.

Nigel Collins’s hat-trick gave Horspath Res their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory at Yarnton Res, who are still pointless after seven outings.

A Tommy Malloy penalty and Diego Ferreiro Rochs replied for Yarnton.

David Bulgarelli’s double helped Enstone Res open their account with a 4-0 home victory over Kidlington Old Boys Res.

Dan Tibble’s brave header – which saw him pick up nine stitches after being accidentally struck by a boot – broke the deadlock in the second half.

Bulgarelli’s brace was then sandwiched around Paul Canning’s chip as Enstone clinched victory.

Freeland Res came from two down to win 7-3 at Broughton & North Newington Res.

Andy Robey converted a penalty after Andy Cullen was fouled in the area to give Broughton the lead, and Cullen then slotted home.

But Freeland hit back with Joe Williams’s shot striking a post, before hitting keeper Ollie Murrey on the back of the head and flying into the back of the net.

Nathan Birchell then made it all-square at half-time.

Ben Glastonbury edged Freeland in front, and Nathan Blackwell stretched their lead.

Gareth Furey pulled one back, but a Joe Williams penalty, Glastonbury’s second and a Will Vandenberghe spot-kick sealed Freeland’s victory.

Steve Skyrmes scored twice in Garsington Res’s 3-1 home win over Marston Saints Res.

Dan Smith also netted, with John James replying.

Harris let fly 15 minutes into the first half, and Eynsham held on to take maximum points.
