SAXTON Rovers missed two penalties but still moved up to second in North Berks League Division 1 with a 2-1 win at Lambourn Sports, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

Kyle Allsworth failed twice from the spot, but Louis Bloomfield and Jack Bernasconi netted for Rovers, with Luke Richards replying.

Westminster saw off hosts Hanney United 4-1, thanks to a hat-trick from Andy Younie and a strike from Mike Hooton. Hanney’s consolation was an own goal.

North Oxford picked up a rare point with a 3-3 draw over Harwell Village, with Jack Powell (2) and Gareth Fenton scoring their goals.

In Division 2, Compton and Kintbury Rangers Res drew 2-2.

Compton netted through Jake Rostron and Ben Brazoski, while Luke Connor scored both Kintbury goals.

Uffington United picked up their first point of the year with a 2-2 draw against Hagbourne United.

Sam Butler and Dom Terrett scored for Uffington, with Macaulay Churton and Ben Drabble replying.

Cumnor Minors closed the gap on the leaders in Division 4 with a thumping 9-1 win at Steventon Res.

Jordan Howe hit a four-timer, with William Jones (2), George Carter, Joshua Rough and Ouchie Johnson also netting. Ben Griffiths replied.

East Hendred Res reached the semi-finals of the AG Kingham Cup with a 7-0 win against Ardington Res.

Bill McDonald and Kai Parton-Edy scored twice each, with Tom North, Steve Vaux and Ben Eltham also on target.

Berinsfield Res booked their place in the semi-finals of the North Berks League Cup, beating Marcham Res 5-1.

Mennan Calvo (2), Chris Murphy, Jon Welch and Tony Beechers were on target, with Alfie Kingsbury replying.

Hagbourne United Res thrashed Hanney 66 Club 9-3.

Connor Dawson and Ross McDonald scored twice, with Adam Lee, James Murphy, George Smith, Jake Lee and Tyrese Williams also finding the target. Adam Day (2) and Andy Hayward replied.

Drayton bowed out in the fourth round of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup with a 5-1 defeat at home to South Reading.

Josh Dennis scored their only goal in the loss.
