Joey Hiscock put the hosts in front, but Piers McGlyn (2) and Jamie McCuaig earned the visitors victory.

l PREMIER Division new boys FC Hollybush made a fine start as they fought back from 3-2 down to beat hosts Kirtlington 5-3 in the Witney & District League.

Craig Mays bagged a hat-trick on his Hollybush debut, adding to strikes from Bradley Bryant and Dan Bishop.

Shane Probitt, Alex Metcalfe and Tom Williams scored for the hosts.

The only other Premier Division clash was settled inside the first minute as Carterton Town A beat Hailey 1-0, Dave Wanless netting the only goal.

Pre-season Division 1 favourites Aston got off to a flying start with a 5-1 win over Eynsham.

Ryan Colleton (2), James Fleming (2), and Darren Harriss were on the scoresheet.

John Ayres grabbed Eynsham’s reply, while Aston keeper Ashley Edwards saved a penalty when his side were 3-1 ahead.

Newly-promoted Tower Hill fought hard for a 4-2 victory at Milton.

James Scott (2), Jamie Mariani and Adam Bolley grabbed Tower’s goals, while Stephen Pearce and Alex Ayres replied.

Stonesfield ran out 6-4 winners at Bampton in a feisty ten-goal thriller.

Bampton led 3-1 at the break, only for Stonesfield to hit back.

Jordan Newman (2), Raffy Rice, Liam Hatton, Jamie Gardner and an own goal gave Stonesfield the points.

Nathan Beckett (2), Conor O’Shea and Daniel Paintin hit back for Bampton.

In Division 2, new boys Bourton Rovers hammered hosts Witney Wanderers 5-0.

Matty Winter scored twice, with Josh Fielding, Lee Mosson and Ben McPhililmey scoring the others.

After narrowly avoiding the drop last season, Brize Norton made a great start to this season, winning 3-1 against Hailey Res.

Haydn Parker scored twice, with Dan Humm adding the other.

A Mark Orpwood penalty was scant reward for Hailey, who had Ash Mills sent off for two yellow cards.

Middle Barton beat newly-promoted Aston Res 3-0 as Nick Higgs, John Umney and Liam Barnes found the net.

Siege opened their Division 3 campaign with a 5-2 win at Chipping Norton Town Res.

Andy Makepiece had a dream debut with a four-timer, with Lee Masden scoring No 5.

Ducklington hammered Bourton Res 8-0.

Sam Doherty slammed a hat-trick with doubles for Courage Nyena and Tom Townsend.

Ciaran Doyle completed the route with a 30-yard volley.

Rocky Bourton and Michael Doybrava replied.

The match between Milton Res and FC Mills was abandoned as Mills’ striker Aaron French suffered a broken leg.

l THERE was a sombre start to the Witney & District FA season as players held a minute’s silence in memory of league president Bob Watts, who recently died.

Mr Watts had been involved with the Witney FA for more than 50 years as a player, committee member, secretary and President.
