WESTMINSTER claimed their place in the final of the North Berks League’s War Memorial Cup with a narrow 1-0 over Division 4 leaders Blewbury, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

The decisive moment came just moments before half-time, when Dan Hall’s shot was deflected into the path of Michael Hooton to strike home from 12 yards.

They will face Harwell Village in the final after they defeated Benson Lions 2-0 in the other semi-final.

Gareth Fenton and Ross Tyler were on target for Harwell.

Grove Rangers Res were beaten for the first time this season, going down 2-0 to Coleshill United Res in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, with Kalem Marsh netting both.

Goals from Phil Margetts and Danny Curran earned Steventon Res a semi-final berth with a 2-0 home victory over Dorchester Res.

Saxton Rovers claimed a place in the semi-final of the Charity Shield with a 2-0 victory over Kintbury Rangers, thanks to a brace from Tom Stanley.

With Saxton absent from league action, Berinsfield reclaimed their place at the top of Division 1 with a fine 4-1 victory at Wallingford Town.

Joe Webber netted for the hosts, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat as Luke Saunders struck twice for Berinsfield, with further goals from Mark Ingram and David Murphy.

Jon Green bagged a hat-trick as Steventon kept up the pressure at the top of Division 2 with a 6-0 thrashing of hosts Dorchester.

Jamie Speer, Kevin Scott and Scott McKenzie were also on target for the visitors.

North Oxford were narrow 1-0 winners over visiting Hanney United, courtesy of a Dale Cameron effort.

Edgar Garces scored the winner as Watlington picked up their first win in five games in Division 3, defeating hosts Marcham 1-0.

Tom Davies, Craig Passey and Howard Hawkins goals handed Wallingford Town Res a 3-1 away win over Grove Rangers.

Long Wittenham Athletic Res kept their Division 4 promotion hopes alive as they won 2-1 at Hagbourne United.

Goals from Mike Learoyd and Daroush Kianzad won it for the visitors, with Luke Tansley on target for United.

Uffington United Res were held to an entertaining 3-3 draw at home to Sutton Courtenay Res in Division 5.

Pete Byrne, Liam Mullins and Josh Jefferies netted for the hosts but a Max Fenton double and another from Callum Stewart earned the visitors a point.
