WALLINGFORD Town kickstarted their season in style in North Berks League Division 1, with a 3-0 away victory over Saxton Rovers.

Tom Baptie put the visitors in front after just six minutes, Bradley Chalmers netted their second ten minutes from time and substitute Charlie Silkstone added a third five minutes later.

Long Wittenham Athletic were beaten 2-1 by visitors Burghclere.

Substitute Matthew Saunders netted for the hosts, but a Ben Matthews double won it for Burghclere.

Steve Andrews struck four times as North Oxford crushed visitors Faringdon Town Res 10-0 in Division 2.

There was also a hat-trick for Jack Hinkin, a brace from Aaron Andrews and a solitary goal for John Chapman.

In Division 3, Watlington Town were 4-1 winners at home to Uffington United.

Tom Bowden struck alongside efforts from Conor Blayachi and Dan Clifford for the hosts, with Lewis Sherman replying for Uffington.

Dorchester Res won 3-1 at Hagbourne United in Division 4, courtesy of Andy Fathers, George Kay and Joe Marriott goals.

Ethan Short replied in vain for the hosts.

Berinsfield Res were subjected to a 7-1 thrashing at home to Coleshill United.

Shane Stephens’s strike was small consolation as the goals rained in at the other end, courtesy of an Ashley Chapman treble and further efforts from James Head, James Tranter, Andy Lynham and Mitchell Singh

Chris Wilkins was sent off as Steventon Res went down 2-1 at Cumnor Minors in Division 5.

Nathan Page was on target for Steventon, but they were beaten by strikes from Will Jones and Cameron Selkirk.

Luke Alder and Eammon McGowran scored two each for Grove Rangers Res to help them to an emphatic 7-0 home win over Marcham Res.

Brad Barefoot, Aaron Colley and Matt Lockwood also found the net to send Grove level with Didcot Eagles at the top of the league.
