BERINSFIELD avenged their heavy North Berks Cup defeat by beating leaders Saxton Rovers 4-1 to blow the Division 1 title race wide open, writes PHIL ANNETS.

Jack Smith netted for Saxton, but David Murphy, Zach Gallagher, Charlie Lee and Max Palmer all scored to give Berinsfield the three points.

They are now seven points behind the frontrunners with three games in hand.

In Division 2, Westminster were held 3-3 at home by Turnpike Sports.

James Dallimore bagged a brace, alongside a Sam Dallimore effort, for Westminster but this was matched by goals from Aaron Henry, Ashley Beckett and Callum Stewart for Turnpike.

It was top versus bottom in Division 3, with leaders Harwell Village beating Union Street 3-0 courtesy of strikes by Gareth Fenton, Paul Powell and Matt Aplin.

Will McDonald netted for Grove Rangers during their 3-1 defeat at home to Hungerford Town Swifts.

Lewis Sopp, Stuart Rolfe and Iggy Illott all scored for the visitors.

Luke Melville struck twice and Jack Jones scored as Uffington United won 3-1 at home to Compton for whom Alex Caines scored.

In Division 4, East Hendred Reserves closed the gap on the leaders to just one point after winning 3-0 at home to Kennington Athletic.

Liam Eltham (2) and James Stevens scored the goals.

Hagbourne United Res fell to a 10-0 defeat to Division 5 leaders Hungerford Town Swifts Res.

Josh Way and Tom Teagle both scored hat-tricks, while Damien Lybech-Harris, Matt Lavers, James Webb and Keenan Dundas also netted.

Tom King's treble helped Watlington Town Res beat Stanford in the Vale Res 3-2, for whom Kevin Page and Sam McKenna were on the scoresheet.

In the Charity Shield semi-final, Division 2 side Burghclere pulled off an upset in beating Division 1 outfit Abingdon Town 4-1.

Curtis Angell (2), Josh Stockwell and Joe Lawrence scored for Burghclere, with Danny Cox netting Town's consolation.

They will face either Crowmarsh Gifford or Lambourn Sports in the final on Saturday, April 30, at Abingdon Town.
