MIKE Duerden smashed home a hat-trick to fire West Witney into the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Charity Cup with a 5-0 defeat of Launton Sports.

Ian Sparkes and Seb White were also on target for the home side, who will travel to Oxford University Press in the next round.

  • OXFORD University Press will also be involved in the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Senior League’s President’s Cup following their closely contested 2-0 win over Eynsham.

Sean Hurcombe and Neil Lockhart struck late on to send the holders through and set up a semi-final meeting with Cropredy, who overcame Kidlington Old Boys 2-1 on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

  • SUMMERTOWN Stars hammered St Ebbes Headington 8-1 to emphatically secure their place in the semi-finals of the County Junior League Cup.

Andrew McGregor’s goal for the visitors cancelled out Charles Appiah’s opener for Stars, but that was as good as it would get for the away side as Summertown took control and scored four more times before half-time.

Dylan Smith hit a hat-trick and Appiah netted again, then going on to register twice more after the interval, before Theo Sturgis completed the rout.
