SAXTON Rovers opened up a three-point gap at the top of North Berks League Division 1 with a 5-0 thrashing of visitors Crowmarsh Gifford, writes PHIL ANNETS.

Tom Stanley struck twice alongside goals from Gary Hartley, Danny Parry and Garry Belcher, as the home side returned to form.

Ashley Searle bagged a brace for a third week in succession to give Wallingford Town a 2-0 victory at home to Drayton.

Brad Gill was in unstoppable form, notching five times to help Division 2 leaders Stanford in the Vale to an emphatic 6-0 win at Marcham.

Taylor Gill netted the other goal as the visitors stretched their lead at the top to four points.

Dorchester Res held Newbury Res to a 3-3 draw away from home in Division 3.

Andy Bullock (2) and Adam Shepherd scored for the home side, but Dorchester claimed a share of the spoils thanks to a Jordan Lynne double and an Alex Kerry strike.

Benson Lions and Grove Rangers also had to share the points after cancelled each other out in a 2-2 draw.

Pat Whitcombe and Adam Betts were on target for hosts Lions, but the visitors responded through Joe Courtney and Matt Cramp.

Boyan Thorpe scored for Blewbury, but they had to settle for a point as Andy Capper’s goal helped Faringdon Town A to a 1-1 draw in Division 4.

Berinsfield Res won 5-1 at basement club Hagbourne United, with Ricky Hastings, Jon Welch, Luke Holdsworth, Chris Baldwin and Dan Osbourne on target.

Jamie Clarke netted the consolation for Hagbourne.
