CHRIS Mortimore scored two and made the other as Vale of White Horse hit back to beat Brierley Hill & Dudley 3-1 at Abingdon United.

Jack Stevens struck the other goal as Vale moved into the last 16 of the PlayStation ESFA Under 15 Inter Association Trophy, but they had to do it the hard way.

The visitors took the lead with their first attack, in the fourth minute, when Carrick Chaney latched on to a poor clearance and found the net.

Vale, who lost centre back Matty Fitzgerald to an ankle injury, hit the bar through James Stewart in an otherwise disappointing half.

But the hosts were transformed after the break and Mortimore quickly levelled by smashing a loose ball into the top corner.

He put Vale ahead after good work by Luke Hayward, before crossing for Stevens to make the game safe.
