DORCHESTER’S poor campaign suffered another low point as they were knocked out of the North Berks Cup in the second round with a 2-1 defeat at home to Division 2 side Watlington Town, writes PHIL ANNETS.

Still searching for their first point of the season, Dorchester’s form carried over into the cup as goals from Connor Blayachi and Andy Benyon won the tie for the lower league side. Billy Warner scored for the hosts.

Two goals from Dean Boyles and one from Glen Leach gave North Oxford, of Division 3, a 3-2 home win over Division 2 strugglers Marcham, who scored through Darren Webster and Dave Yallop.

Division 2 leaders Stanford in the Vale went out at the hands of struggling Westminster, slipping to a 3-1 home defeat.

Taylor Gill netted for the hosts, but Westminster won it courtesy of goals from Josh Bourton, Mike Hooton and Aiden Di Toro.

Division 4 side Blewbury took Division 3 outfit Uffington United all the way to penalties, drawing 1-1 before finally succumbing 6-5 from the spot.

Will Reddy scored their goal in normal time, with Luke Melville replying for visitors Uffington.

Doubles from Steve Vaux and Matt Cramp, alongside a Grant Summersbee strike, gave Grove Rangers a comfortable 5-1 win at fellow Division 3 side Compton, for whom Mike Butler scored.

Drayton saw off local rivals Steventon 3-0 thanks to a Danny Curran double and a Tirjon dos Santo Mala effort.

In Division 1, leaders Berinsfield kept their title defence on track with a tight 3-2 win at Long Wittenham Athletic to open up a four-point gap at the top of the table.

David Murphy struck twice alongside a Max Palmer goal, while Steve Molloy and Lewis Monaghan found the net for Wittenham.

Tom Mullard grabbed the only goal of the game as Saxton Rovers beat second-placed Kintbury Rangers 1-0.

The local derby between Crowmarsh Gifford and Wallingford Town ended all square at 2-2.

Tim Holtom and Phil Hedges scored for home side Crowmarsh, but goals from Camden Laver and Ashley Searle ensured the points were shared.

On Friday night, Abingdon Town won 4-2 at home to East Hendred with Frankie Merola, Tom Parker, Kieran Davis and Niall Hodgkinson all on the scoresheet.

Paul Jezzard struck twice on vain for Hendred.
