Daniel Jones struck late on to hand Kidlington Old Boys a 1-0 victory over Charlton in the final of the Oxfordshire Senior League’s Ben Turner Cup, held at Jordan Hill Sports Ground.

Old Boys began the all-Division 1 clash as favourites after doing the double over their opponents in the league.

But they quickly found it difficult to make headway as a determined Charlton restricted their sights of goal.

But the breakthrough finally came in the 86th minute, when Johnny Richards broke free on the right-hand side before firing across goal for Jones to prod in.

There was also only a single goal in the league’s other final played on Easter Monday.

Horspath Res were 1-0 winners over ten-man Garsington Res in the final of the Ivor Gubbins Cup.

Paul Cooper scored the only goal of the game after 25 minutes.

Matters got worse for Garsington five minutes later, when Jake Gerring was sent off for a late tackle.

Garsington pressed hard for an equaliser throughout the second half, but were unable to find a way through as Horspath held on to claim victory.

Two goals from Sean Hurcombe gave Oxford University Press a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Broughton & North Newington in the Premier Division.

It was more than an hour before the home side’s dominance was made to count, Hurcombe finally breaking the deadlock with a beautiful curling effort before adding a second by rounding the goalkeeper and rolling the ball into an empty net.

Division 1 champions Garsington hit double figures as they hammered bottom side Northway 10-0.

Jelroy Constant grabbed a second-half hat-trick and Andrew McMahon also scored twice for the home side, with Martyn Clarke, Ben Curtis, Jake Chambers, Dan Johnson and a Northway own goal completing the scoring.

Paul Peedell scored a last-minute equaliser to give Yarnton Res a 2-2 draw at home to struggling Charlton Res in Division 2.

Jason Buck had put the hosts ahead, but a double from Owen Bateman appeared to have secured basement side Charlton just their second league win of the season, before Peedell headed home a leveller just seconds from time.

North Oxford Res drew 1-1 at home to Chalgrove Res, thanks to a Carl Simone equaliser after Rob Cantwell had put Chalgrove in front.
