Eynsham SSC’s second round tie at home to Witney & District League rivals Carterton Rangers was abandoned in the third minute of stoppage time due to a serious injury.

The visitors were just a minute from a 4-3 victory when Dan Brooks went down with a suspected cruciate knee ligament injury, with the referee eventually calling the game off 20 minutes into a 40-minute wait for an ambulance to arrive.

The hosts had led 3-1 at the break, with John Ayres scoring twice and Matty Walker also on target.

But Rangers hit back and led 4-3 as Ben Pearce struck twice alongside goals from Billy Hales and Lee Keyes, before Brooks’ 93rd-minute injury forced an abandonment.
