The George edged past Summertown Stars in the preliminary round of the Oxford City FA County Junior League Cup, the hosts advancing on penalties following a 3-3 draw.
The home side only had nine men, but twice led in normal time thanks to David Preece and Tommo Totton.
Stars twice levelled through Jonathan Lavy and Daniel Deakin and were ahead in extra-time before Jordan Daniels forced the match to penalties. Preece then scored the crucial spot kick.
Fairview were 2-1 winners at home to Wheatley Youth.
