WITNEY & DISTRICT FA

WEST Witney completed an historic treble as they ground out a tough 6-3 extra time win over Hailey in the Senior Cup final at Carterton.

It means Witney have now completed back-to-back trebles after also winning the Premier Division and the Fred Ford Cup.

Karl Dodds (2) and Ian Sparkes were on target for West, with Jacob Hambidge, Luke Manning and Richard Sutton replying for Hailey.

However, West Witney went up a gear in extra-time. Sparkes completed his treble, before Carl Austin and Tony McLemen sealed victory.

Jesse Lawrence scored a hat-trick as Tower Hill sealed a league and cup double in their inaugural season with a 6-1 thrashing of Spartan Rangers Res in the Supplementary Cup final at North Leigh.

Connor Tinsley and George French each added a brace.

Carterton Rangers missed out on a third-place finish in Division 2 after drawing 4-4 at FC Hollybush.

Needing to win to leapfrog Kirtlington, Kev Davies (2), Paul Dray and Tim Stiddard gave the hosts a seemingly unassailable 4-1 half-time lead.

But Rangers would have none of it and fought back through a Tom Clapham double, plus strikes from Dan Hall and Ed Smith, but couldn’t find the elusive winner as they finished in fourth.
