FREELAND Yeoman ran out 4-0 winners to lift the Alan Alder Trophy after beating nine-man Cowley Marsh Eagles, writes TIM SIRET.

Premier Division Eagles were left to rue early missed chances.

They could have been well in front by the time Neil Rose won and converted a disputed penalty for the Division 1 side.

The match was still in the balance well into the second half, with Tom Gerken hitting a post for Yeoman, while at the other end, Fama Mara went close to an equaliser.

It swung decisively towards Yeoman when man-of-the-match Aston Leach smashed home a beauty from the edge of the box.

The opposition then fell apart, first with Shon Dean sent off and he was swiftly followed by Mara, who picked up a second booking.

Rob Keylock and Leach made the most of the extra space to give the scoreline a flourish late on.

Matt Wigley’s second-half strike saw Forest Hill win the Devenney Cup after weathering heavy pressure from Abba Athletic.

The first half was virtually one-way traffic, as Division 3 side Abba piled the pressure on to their Division 2 opponents.

Shane Probbits starred, but despite the balance of the game, there was no way through before the break.

Forest Hill bounced back after the restart and Wigley claimed what proved to be the winner with a slightly fortuitous finish following a corner.
