OXFORDSHIRE SENIOR LEAGUE
OAKLEY continued their push for the Premier Division title with a 1-0 victory at Oxford University Press.
Leaders Oakley sealed the points with a penalty from Shayne Almond just before half-time.
Third-placed Mansfield Road, who have four games in hand, are now Oakley’s only challengers for the crown.
Charlton United held on to beat struggling North Oxford 3-2 in Division 1.
The hosts went 3-0 up in the second half, with in-form striker Daniel Sweeney’s hat-trick bringing his tally to eight goals in two matches.
Sid Harris and Elliot Powell reduced the deficit for the visitors, but Charlton survived to pick up the three points and keep their slim promotion chances alive.
Watlington won 7-5 at basement boys Northway to haul themselves away from the wrong end of the table.
Pete Ashman led the way with a double as Watlington edged a scrappy encounter.
Ben Little, Will Clements, Dave Heycock, Luke Yeylet and an own goal made up their tally.
Kyle Pullen (2), Jason Evans, Lewis Welby and Liam Palfreeman replied for Northway.
