Dorchester's 4-0 defeat at home to Kintbury Rangers has thrown the North Berks League Division 1 title race wide open, writes Phil Annets.

Doubles for Charlie Allsop and Adam Drake brought unbeaten Kintbury to within four points of the leaders with two games in hand.

Kintbury took the lead within two minutes when a combination of Allsop and a defender’s toe steered Drake’s corner into the net.

On the stroke of half-time, Dorchester fell further behind when Drake lobbed Dorchester keeper Jon Lever from 25 yards.

Allsop slotted Kintbury’s third goal on 72 minutes, and Dorchester’s woe was complete when Drake’s 90th-minute corner sailed into the net.

In the only match played in Division 2, Steventon switched their fixture to Marcham with their pitch waterlogged, and the move paid off with a 3-0 win.

Shaun Bray, Stuart Coppock and Martin Trower scored for Steventon.

In Division 4, Matt Cramp hit a hat-trick in Grove Rangers’s 4-0 win at Benson AFC.

Grant Summersbee also netted to rekindle Grove’s promotion hopes while at the same time denting Benson’s title bid.

In Division 5, Challow won 4-2 against Grove Rangers Res in a match played at Lambourn Sports’ ground.

Oliver Floyd, Kurtis Shaw, Simon Davison and Cameron Rankin netted for Challow, with Joe Braham and Danny Ferguson replying.
