COUNTY CUPS ACTION

GOALKEEPER Craig Evans got on the mark as Riverside eased past Oxford University Press 3-0 in the Oxfordshire Charity Cup quarter-finals.

Liam O’Callaghan added a brace, but Evans, with a long, wind-assisted punt, was a surprise scorer for No 2.

Mark Gaul’s brace saw Bletchingdon reach the semi-finals after narrowly winning 2-1 at Horspath.

Gaul deservedly put the visitors ahead on the rebound after Horspath goalkeeper Ian Dunston spilled a Callum Lloyd cross.

Horspath levelled on 88 minutes when Mark Flanagan bundled home and looked as if they might sneak it, but Gaul slid the winner deep into injury time.

Two goals in the space of a minute saw Thame United Res beat Kidlington Old Boys 2-1 to reach the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup semi-finals.

Kidlington went ahead on 30 minutes, but the tie turned just before half-time.

First, Aaron Bonham picked himself off the floor to score a penalty after being fouled.

Then Luke Hurley netted from six yards to set up a home semi-final clash against Berinsfield.
