NORTH BERKS LEAGUE
DORCHESTER took closer order at the top of Division 1 with a 7-2 win away to fellow title-contenders Berinsfield, writes Phil Annets.
Their game was just one of five in the league to defeat the adverse weather, allowing them to move within four points of leaders Ardington & Lockinge.
Jamie Fleet and Joe Dixon netted twice each alongside a Josh McInnerney penalty and goals for Josh Nicholls and Ben Curtis.
Chris Murphy and Charlie Jamieson registered for Berinsfield.
In Division 2, Drayton went goal-crazy at Sutton Courtenay winning 10-1, with both Ryan Seamark and Danny Cohen helping themselves to hat-tricks.
Ashley Seamark grabbed a brace while George Brewerton and Gareth Small were also on the scoresheet. Tom Quinan netted the consolation for Sutton.
Westminster went top of Division 3 thanks to a 3-1 win at Dorchester Res.
Tim Slater bagged a brace alongside a Dean Staniford effort. Miles Southon replied for Dorchester.
Goals from Zach Gallagher and Elliot Harper gave second-placed Benson AFC a surprise 2-0 home win over Division 4 runaway leaders Turnpike Sports, ending their opponents’ unbeaten start to the season.
Dave Jones hit a hat-trick for Long Wittenham Athletic Res in their 3-1 home victory over Berinsfield Res who scored via Dan Osbourne.
