OXFORDSHIRE SENIOR LEAGUE

GARY Wiggins and Danny Burrows both scored hat-tricks as Kidlington Old Boys hammered Division 1 basement side Enstone 10-0.

Hosts Kidlington led 4-0 at half-time, thanks to Wiggins (2) and Burrows (2).

The pair completed their trebles in the second half, with Sam Ponting, Billy Truby, Aaron Ainsworth and Tim Marshall also getting in on the act.

Second-placed Broughton & North Newington survived a late fightback to win 4-3 at Yarnton.

Laurence Card put Broughton ahead, and although Steven Litten levelled, Lee Byrne (2) and Gareth Davies looked to have made it safe for the visitors. Two very late goals from Mark Harris and goalkeeper Steven Dennett were not enough for Yarnton.

Kidlington Res won 2-1 at Northway to maintain their four-point lead at the top of the table.

Max Dunmall put Kidlington ahead on 17 minutes with a 20-yarder, while James Keller’s header made it 2-0 in the second half.

Kyle Pullen pulled a goal back from a tight angle on 75 minutes.

Charlton United drew 1-1 at home to Eynsham.

Paul O’Neil netted for the hosts after Will Morris had put Eynsham ahead.

Horspath’s topsy-turvy season continued with a 2-1 home victory over Marston Saints in the Premier Division.

The hosts have now won five and lost four of their nine games and had to come from behind on Saturday.

Tom Payne broke clear and fired home to put Marston ahead.

But Horspath equalised on 30 minutes when Paul Cooper pounced on a defensive mix-up to score from 12 yards.

Craig Piston put Elliott O’Brien through for what proved the winner five minutes after the break.

Marston had Jake Cooper sent off with 20 minutes to go.

Middleton Cheney Res went top of Division 2 with a 3-0 home win over Bletchingdon Res.

Scott Finch made it 1-0 in the first half, with Steve Twynham converting a penalty soon after the break.

Cheney finally made sure of the three points with Steve O’Brien finishing off a good team move five minutes from the end.

Jack Kettle’s hat-trick helped Broughton and North Newington Res to a 4-2 victory at home to Watlington Res in Division 3.

Kettle opened the scoring, but Frank Wilkie equalised for Watlington with a 25-yarder.

Broughton led 4-1 thanks to two more from Kettle and one from debutant Ben Evans, with Sam Carter replying.

Oakley United Res scored all five goals in their 4-1 home success over Charlton United Res.

Darren Gascoigne (2), Dean Boyles and Ben Lazaruk netted for the hosts, while Charlton’s reply came via a Dominic Brussell own goal.

North Oxford Res climbed to third with a 5-0 home success over Launton Sports Res.

James Bruce, Shane Whalley, Peter Hall, Luke Trotman and Dorran Soloman were on target.
