A FINE individual goal from Jamie McMahon earned Garsington their first Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division victory of the season.

But they had to do it the hard way, with visitors Chalgrove taking the lead late in the first half with a volley from Rob Armstrong.

The home side levelled through Michael Bateman just after the hour mark, before McMahon settled the game from 20 yards, having picked the ball up in his own half.

The win lifted Garsington off the foot of the table.

An early strike from Jamie Fisher set high-flying Kidlington Res on the way to a 4-0 win at home to Eynsham in Division 1.

Fisher opened the scoring from just inside the box on five minutes.

The hosts stretched their advantage before the break through Max Dunmall and Kevin Pike.

Lewis Colwell rounded off a thumping win with a superb free-kick 15 minutes from time.

Jonathon Hopcraft’s hat-trick saw Broughton & North Newington win 3-1 at Northway to move third in the table.

Hopcraft struck twice in the opening 20 minutes, but Sheridan Williams pulled a goal back to keep Northway in the game.

The home side were on top in the second half without forcing an equaliser and Hopcraft made the game safe with his third of the afternoon ten minutes from time.

Bletchingdon Res stunned Division 2 leaders Mansfield Road Res as they came from two goals down to win 3-2 away.

Goals from Ibrahim Mara and Simon Dickie in the first half appeared to put Mansfield Road on the way to another victory.

But the visitors hit back to turn the game on its head in the space of ten minutes.

Darren King, Danny Evans and Stuart Well struck to claim a dramatic three points.

That result allowed Adderbury Park Res to go top with a 4-1 home win over Marston Saints Res.

Ashley Wingrove grabbed three, while Daniel Butler also hit the target before Paul Hugo claimed a late goal for the visitors.

Steve O’Brien scored twice as Middleton Cheney Res climbed to second place, thanks to a 4-3 win at Stonesfield Res.

The home side looked comfortable at half-time, leading 3-1 after strikes from Lewis Stayte, Nick Clarke and James Cook.

But Cheney responded after the break and scored three goals in 15 minutes to win the game.

Scott Lambourne and James Finch completed their scorers.

The division’s biggest winners were Freeland Res, who romped to a 7-1 win over visitors OUP Res.

Daz Kianzad led the way with a hat-trick, which was backed up by Tom Gerken (2), Paul Salter and Andy Hemming. Gareth Edwards hit the away side’s consolation.

Horspath Res went top of Division 3 with a 2-1 win at Broughton & North Newington Res.

Paul Flack and Simon Evans struck for the visitors, cancelling out Josh Hunt’s goal for Broughton.

The game ended on a sour note as both sides finished with ten men, with Ryan Hall and Horspath’s Dean Cox both sent off.

A blistering start sent Oakley United Res on course for a 5-1 win at Watlington Res.

Most of the damage was done early on, as Oakley built on a first minute goal to lead 4-0 inside 20 minutes.

Dean Boyles ended with three and there were goals for Darren Gascoigne and Ashley Sheward.

Watlington’s reply came via an own goal.

Tom Hooper converted a penalty to give North Oxford Res a 2-1 win at Charlton United Res.

James Manning put the away side in front, but Steven McLaughlin quickly equalised for Charlton.

A tight game was decided from the spot with 20 minutes remaining as Hooper found the net despite not making clean contact.
