Kidlington could be in line for a much-needed boost after being approached by a group of local businessmen interested in taking the club forward.

The club suffered a decline in fortunes this term, finishing fourth from bottom in the Premier Division.

But now changes are afoot.

Press officer Simon Dickens said: “A group of local businessmen have approached chairman Gary Johnson with a view and a vision of taking the club forward.

“This will involve adding to the already existing committee a ‘board of directors’ to oversee development of the club in all areas.”

Kidlington’s priority, however, is to appoint a first-team manager.

They are also looking to achieve FA Charter Standard, to work more closely with local clubs – particularly Garden City and Kidlington Youth.
