North Leigh boss Mark Gee has urged his players to keep up the pressure on Hungerford as they battle it out with the Berkshire side for a place in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West play-offs.

Although the Millers trail the fifth-placed side by five points, Gee says two straight wins have lifted their confidence ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Bishops Cleeve.

They then host high-fliers Poole Town before visiting Hungerford.

“We have worked for 37 games to get this far and we can’t give up on it while we still have a chance,” said Gee.

“We got off to such a bad start that even I was calling for my head!

“But we’ve had a really good second half of the season.

“All we can do is keep on winning and keep the pressure on Hungerford, who are the side on the least best form.”

Gee added: “Bishops Cleeve will be tough. It’s really tight pitch, they don’t score or concede many goals.”

North Leigh will be without the suspended Elliott Osborne-Ricketts.

Didcot Town boss Dave Mudge has expressed sympathy for Lee Henderson’s red card against Abingdon.

The former Bicester defender was sent off after being involved in a clash with Abingdon assistant Mark Collier.

Mudge said: “I think the referee has been conned. The Abingdon bench have deliberately blocked him off as he went to get the ball.”

Henderson is banned for tomorrow’s trip anyway, while Alex Stanley is out with a leg injury.

Abingdon United manager Richie Bourne has praised his side for ending their 17-match winless run at Didcot and is targeting their first home game of 2012 against fourth-placed Sholing.

He said: “I was delighted to get a win and the lads deserve great credit because they played really well.”

Bourne added: “Sholing are the best side we have played this season and we need the same level of performance we showed at Didcot to get anything.”
