Abingdon Tn 1 (Coyle 79)

Kidlington blew away Abingdon with three first-half goals to strengthen their hold on third place in the Premmier Division on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute. Mark Flanagan’s speculative free-kick from wide out on the right flank flew past a startled Abingdon keeper Matt Hutton into the top left corner of the goal.

Dominant Kidlington made it 2-0 on the half-hour. Jimmy Deabill saw his shot half saved before Jack Quainton blasted home the rebound from ten yards.

Jordan Parker added a third on 40 minutes after great work by Mark Baker.

Abingdon took ther upper hand in the second half and deservedly pulled back a goal in the 79th minute.

It came from a headed goal by the smallest man on the field, Lewis Coyle, from Paul Alder’s free-kick.

Oxford City Nomads 0

Ardley Utd 3 (Concannon pen 9, Nicholls 26, 34)

Ardley United stayed two points clear at the top when they cantered to a comfortable victory against improving Nomads at Court Place Farm.

They wrapped up victory in the first half.

Ian Concannon put them ahead with a penalty in nthe ninth minute after Troy Bryan had been brought down.

Murray Nicholls netted twice in eight minutes before half-time.

Some great goalkeeping from Nomads’ Joe White prevented ther leaders adding to their tally.

Ascot Utd 1 (Bennett 52)

Wantage Tn 2 (Edney 12, Claydon 41)

Two first-half goals gave fourth-placed Wantage a narrow victory at Ascot, although they had some al-arms in the second.

Graham Edney hit the back of the net after 12 minutes from Tom Butler’s cross.

In-form Richie Claydon beat the offside trap and the Ascot keeper in a fine solo effort to make it 2-0 just before half-time.

Ascot came out stronger after half-time , and Jon Bennett pulled them a goal back on 52 minutes.

It needed a great block by Stuart Cattell and a cracking save from keeper Gareth Tucker to secure all three points for Wantage.
