OXFORD City signed off at home with their biggest win of the season when beating relegated Bognor Regis Town 4-0, writes RYAN BRATLEY.

Matt Paterson hit a first-half double, before Frankie Musonda and Rob Sinclair also netted as Mark Jones’s side secured mathematical safety in Vanarama National League South.

City were on the front foot early on at Court Place Farm.

Sam Nombe was denied by goalkeeper Dan Lincoln on 14 minutes, with the ball falling for Paterson who saw his effort hit a post.

The latter was then foiled by the Bognor stopper moments later.

But Paterson opened the scoring on 39 minutes from 12 yards.

Despite referee Alex Blake initially playing advantage following a foul on Freddie Grant in the area, he pointed to the spot after Sinclair had scored in an offside position.

Paterson stepped up to beat Lincoln with a powerful strike.

City’s top-scorer then made it 20 goals for the season on 43 minutes when he fired home after Musonda saw his shot blocked.

It could have been 3-0 moments later, but Lincoln brilliantly denied Nombe when one-on-one.

Bognor controlled the opening exchanges of the second half, but were unable to threaten City.

And the hosts put the result beyond doubt on 76 minutes when Musonda cut inside and curled superbly into the far corner, leaving Lincoln with no chance.

The scoring was then completed with a minute of normal time remaining.

Paterson saw his effort saved and Zac McEachran calmly set up Sinclair to tap home for his tenth goal of the campaign.
