BANBURY United were comprehensively beaten 3-0 at Premier Division leaders Kettering in the Evo-Stik South League last night.

Brett Solkhon fired the hosts into a ninth-minute lead, and a fine free-kick from Ben Milnes in the 68th minute doubled the advantage.

A disappointing night for Mike Ford’s side was completed when the table-toppers made it 3-0 in injury time when Rhys Hoenes scored from the penalty spot.

Didcot Town paid the price for a nightmare first-half display as they lost 4-2 at home to Winchester City in the West Division.

Andy Ballard’s side trailed 4-0 at the interval to goals from Oli Bailey (2 & 34), Rob Carr (19) and Simba Mlambo (30).

George Reid’s deflected free-kick on 58 minutes at least gave the home fans something to cheer.

And when the same player made it 4-2 from the penalty spot five minutes later, some believed a great comeback was on the cards.

But Didcot were unable to find another breakthrough and were left to rue their opening 45 minutes.

North Leigh went down 2-1 away to AFC Totton.

Craig Feeney bagged a first-half double to put the hosts in control.

Sam Mattock reduced the arrears with a long-range effort, but John Brough’s side could not find an equaliser.

In the East Division, Thame United lost 2-1 at home to Beaconsfield Town.

Luke Neville headed the Rams in front on 13 minutes, but the hosts levelled through Ellis Hercules 20 minutes into the second half.

However, the visitors went back in front on 72 minutes and held on for victory.
