BANBURY United boss Mike Ford has warned his side not to take tomorrow’s guests Cirencester Town lightly.

The Puritans remain in the hunt for an Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division play-off spot and come up against a Cirencester side four points adrift of safety.

Tomorrow’s opponents are also winless in five games, but Ford is wary.

He said: “I know from experience that when you’re down at the bottom you scrap for everything.

“When you’ve not won enough games confidence can be low, so it’s important we start well and get ourselves on top early.”

Banbury welcome back midfielder Jacob Blackstock from international duty with Antigua & Barbuda Under 20s, but could be without George Nash (dead leg).

A lack of consistency in team selection is behind North Leigh’s poor defensive form, believes manager John Brough.

The Millers go into tomorrow’s match at home to Wimborne Town in Division 1 South & West on the back of a four-game winless run, during which time they’ve conceded 12 goals.

A groin problem for captain Stuart Hole and Matt Sysum’s injured thigh ensured more disruption at the back as Brough’s side were beaten 3-2 by Mangotsfield United on Tuesday and both could miss out again.

Brough said: “It’s been a different back four each week and that’s partly my fault for bringing players into the team.

“Because of players constantly leaving and arriving it’s been difficult for the back four to gain an understanding.”

Didcot Town look to end their ten-match wait for a first win of 2017 at home to Slimbridge tomorrow.

But player-manager Andy Ballard said his side need to learn from their mistakes if they are to prevent that run stretching to an 11th game.

He said: “The most frustrating thing for me is that we’re playing top sides like Taunton and Hereford and we’re not being outplayed – we’re more than matching them for most of the game.

“We’re nearly there, but nearly doesn’t quite cut it.

“Players have made the wrong decisions at the wrong time and they need to wise up sharp.”

Ryan Barney remains the only absentee, having signed dual registration forms with Oxford City Nomads as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Didcot have submitted video footage for the ongoing Football Association investigation into the pitch invasion which forced the abandonment of their game against Hereford.

Wantage Town remain without the injured Harvey Scholes (ankle) as they travel to Mangotsfield United.

Keeper Sam Warrell is banned for Kidlington’s clash with Bedford Town in Division 1 Central.

The Greens welcome back Lewis Coyle, Mark Flanagan and Callum Harvey, but Kristian Thomas, Henry Owen, Chris Weedon and Ben Weedon remain sidelined through injury.
