A FLUKE goal from Callum White deep into injury time gave Banbury United a dramatic 2-1 victory in their Premier Division game at home to Stratford Town.

Three minutes into time added on, a deep cross from the right by White sailed over Stratford keeper Niall Cooper’s head and into the far corner of the net.

It capped a fine recovery from Mike Ford’s side, who had trailed 1-0 with 11 minutes left.

With Zac McEachran a constant threat, Banbury had the better of the first half, their best chance falling to Marvin Martin, who thundered a shot against the bar.

Stratford took the lead in the 57th minute when Edwin Ahenkorah’s low cross from the right was knocked home inside the near post by Ben Stephens.

Banbury responded by putting Stratford under pressure, but needed a little bit of fortune to equalise in the 79th minute.

An excellent low cross by Martin was sliced into his own net at the near post by Stratford defender Guy Clark.

Banbury dominated the final minutes, with Cooper making saves from Ricky Johnson and McEachran before being beaten by that effort from White.
