ELIAS Katsoloudi scored twice as Ardley United progressed to the second round of the Bluefin Sports Hellenic Challenge Cup with a 3-1 win at Abingdon United.

The Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West hosts had the first chances when Ash Barroso fired wide, before Sam Wharton headed straight at Lee Farrow.

Abingdon continued to create chances against their Premier Division visitors and Bradley Cox made a fine block to deny Barroso.

Farrow was the busier of the two goalkeepers, but the half ended goalless.

But on 54 minutes it was Ardley who broke the deadlock as a clever free-kick led to Katsoloudi firing into the bottom corner.

Ten minutes later, Matt Cruse made it 2-0, and seconds after the restart, the tie was over as Katsoloudi found the top corner from 25 yards with a fine curling effort.

Sam Wharton netted a consolation goal for Abingdon.

Division 1 West strugglers Letcombe are out after losing 2-0 at Bourton Rovers.

Connor Teague and Chris Mills scored for the Division 2 West outfit.
