A LATE strike from Zac McEachran gave Banbury United a 1-0 victory over Slough Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division last night.

McEachran was in the right place to convert a Leam Howards cross.

North Leigh beat Wantage Town 4-1 in their Division 1 South & West derby.

Jamie Cook gave the hosts a sixth-minute lead.

However, Wantage drew level on 36 minutes when Mark Francis was brought down in the box, and got up to fire the resulting penalty past Connor Thompson.

North Leigh were awarded a spot-kick of their own three minutes into the second period after handball.

Although Eric Odhiambo’s penalty was saved by Wantage keeper Eddie Cavanagh, he was on hand to slot home the rebound.

When Cook was fouled in the area a third penalty was awarded, the same player getting to his feet to find the top-left corner.

And Odhiambo completed the scoring in injury time with his second of the game.

Didcot Town fought back from 2-0 behind to draw 2-2 at Evesham United.

Nick Stanley headed the hosts in front after 17 minutes and Lance Smith doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Ben Whitehead’s penalty on the hour-mark reduced the deficit, before Sam Barder sealed a point for Andy Ballard’s side with a goal 15 minutes from time.

Second-half goals from Bradley Simmonds (60), Oliver Duffy (62) and Tom Collins (80) sent Kidlington crashing to a 3-0 defeat at home to Hanwell Town in Division 1 Central.
