BRADLEY Bubb’s goal two minutes from time saw Oxford City defeat Kidlington 2-1 in the semi-final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup last night.

The striker, who had earlier levelled after Ryan Brooks fired Kidlington in front, made up for his penalty miss 15 minutes from time with a late winner at Thame United.

City will now face Oxford United in the final at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday, May 10.

Brooks fired home to give Hellenic League Premier Division champions Kidlington the lead on 37 minutes.

But Bubb equalised five minutes later when he slotted past keeper Sam Warrell.

City’s leading scorer then saw his penalty saved by Warrell after Conor McDonagh was fouled, but made up for the miss with the late winner.

Didcot Town won 2-1 at Burnham in Division 1 South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League – a result which sees Wantage Town avoid relegation.

After falling behind, Adam Learoyd levelled for the Railwaymen, before Mark Janes scored a penalty after player-boss Andy Ballard was fouled in the box.

However, Didcot were grateful to a penalty save from Leigh Bedwell in the second half to ensure victory.

At the other end of the table, Cinderford secured the title with a 2-0 win over Taunton Town, meaning Banbury United will have to attempt to secure promotion through the play-offs.
