Ardley United fought back from two goals down to win 5-3 at Tuffley Rovers and continue their climb up the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division table.

The game erupted in the five minutes before half-time, with Tuffley taking a 2-0 lead through Warren Mann and Brett James’s penalty before having keeper Phil Clarke sent off for a foul on Ade Talabi.

However, replacement keeper Marcus Foxwell saved the resultant penalty from Reece Bayliss.

It was a different story in the second half as Bayliss and Lewis Hayden equalised for Ardley before Tuffley were reduced to nine men by the dismissal of Callum Price.

Ardley took advantage with further goals from Chris Jackson, substitute Bradley Cox and Talabi, before Tuffley added a third near the end.

Kidlington’s promotion hopes took a knock when their depleted side lost 2-0 away to Highmoor-Ibis.

Six first-teamers were missing as they went down to goals from Anthony White and Ibe Bangura.
