North Leigh’s inconsistent run of results continued when they lost 2-1 at home to fellow play-off contenders Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.

Supermarine, the in-form team in Evo-Stik Southern League Division I South & West extended their unbeaten run to 11 games.

The visitors went ahead in the 13th minute when midfielder Sam Morris fired home the rebound after his initial shot had hit a post.

With Steve Davies causing problems down the right, North Leigh had a chance to level but skipper Wayne Turk shot just wide.

Marine doubled their lead a minute after half-time when defender Ashley Taylor netted from the edge of the penalty area.

The hosts pulled a goal back in the 87th minute when Lance Williams headed Callum McNish’s cross.

Didcot Town make it three wins out three in 2016 as they won 1-0 at Evesham United.

A 30-yard strike from Graham Edney settled it in the 53rd minute of a game which was played on a heavy pitch.

Didcot were assisted when Evesham’s Lance Smith was sent off for a second yellow card early in the second half.

Marvin Martin could have doubled the score late on. but was denied by Evesham keeper Kevin Sawyer.

Banbury United beat basement club Bashley, winning 5-0.

The visitors took the lead with an eighth-minute penalty converted by Ricky Johnson after he had been brought down by keeper Kieran Greene.

But the Puritans’ leading scorer saw a second spot-kick saved, after a foul on Felipe Barcelos.

With the offender Aaron Dunne being sent off, Banbury dominated against ten men.

Three minutes before half time, George Nash made it 2-0 from Callum White’s cross.

It became 3-0 when Banbury were awarded their third penalty for a foul on White.

Mark Bell took over the spot-kick duties and made no mistake.

Darius Browne made it 4-0 five minutes later after good work by Bell and Barcelos, before substitute Leam Howards completed their nap hand.
