Oxford City coach Mark Jones fears a fixture pile-up following the postponement of their FA Trophy second round replay at Cheltenham Town last night.

Four of City’s last five scheduled fixtures have fallen victim to the weather and all have been rearranged to be played midweek over the next month.

City will travel to Cheltenham next Tuesday, meaning a second postponement of their Vanarama National League South match at home to Concord Rangers.

“We’re coming to a stage in the season where it’s important to get positive results and we don’t want too much of a fixture backlog,” said Jones.

“We’re certainly going to have a few midweek fixtures coming up over the next month or so, so it’s going to be an important time in our season.”

“It’s disappointing, because we were looking forward to having a game this week.”
