OXFORD City’s Vanarama National League South promotion hopes suffered a big blow tonight with a 3-1 home loss against struggling Havant & Waterlooville.

Going into the game, City had not been beaten at home, with Havant looking for their first away win of the season.

But a nightmare start cost City dear with Havant's new signing Godfrey Poku scoring after four and eight minutes.

Connor McDonagh pulled a goal back for City on 49 minutes after a goalmouth scramble, but Poku claimed his hat-trick three minutes later following some poor defending.

And although Theo Lewis was sent off for Havant, City could not take advantage.

Oxford City: Walker, King (Pifarre-Forner 75), Lapoujade, Fleet (Pond 64), Santiago, Arzamendi (Benjamin 65), Coulson, Fofana, McDonagh, Lafuente, Isaac. Subs: Sterling-James, Stonehouse. Attendance: 353.

Didcot Town were brought crashing back to earth with a 5-1 thrashing at Tiverton Town in Division 1 South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League.

Didcot, in action again after Sunday’s televised Emirates FA Cup loss against Exeter City, went 1-0 up through Josh Dutton-Black.

But the same player saw red as goals from Ethan Phillips (2), Levi Landricombe, James Richards and Dan Western sealed victory for Tiverton.

Banbury United beat Loughton Manor 5-0 in the Buckingham Charity Cup with Louis Joyce (3) and Darious Browne (2) scoring.
