Didcot Town come back to reality as they resume their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West campaign with a long trip to Tiverton Town this evening (7.30).

Coming just two days after their Emirates FA Cup run came to an end in a televised 3-0 home defeat to Exeter City, joint manager Ian Concannon admitted it would be a tricky test for his exhausted side.

“The first game after the euphoria of the cup run is always going to be difficult,” said Concannon.

“But we have to get rid of any lingering thoughts of the FA Cup and just get it all out of our system.”

Didcot’s league campaign has taken a back seat to their recent cup priorities, with just two games of their last ten in league action.

But following Sunday’s cup exit, the focus is now very much on reviving their league form.

Concannon added: “Our league campaign has been a little bit hit and miss, but we have a steady run of fixtures coming up now.

“It’s crucial that we win our games in hand and start to climb the table and there’s no time like the present.”

Jamie Heapy is the only definite absentee for the Railwaymen, following the recurrence of a recent thigh injury.
